UNKNOWN

Last updated: 4 November 2026 · Draft for review before public launch

Terms and Conditions

These terms govern access to UNKNOWN, an anonymous, text-based conversation service. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use UNKNOWN.

1. Service operator

Launch requirement: The operator's verified legal name, address, jurisdiction and working contact details must be added here before public launch. The operator must obtain legal review and confirm which entity is responsible for providing the service.

2. Eligibility

UNKNOWN is intended only for people aged 18 or older. You must be at least 18 to use it. The current age confirmation is self-attestation only and does not verify your age or identity. Do not use the service if you are under 18.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use UNKNOWN to:

4. Anonymous conversations

UNKNOWN does not require a public profile, but anonymity is not a guarantee that you cannot be identified. Other users may take screenshots, copy messages or disclose information you share. Do not share passwords, payment details, precise location, contact details or sensitive personal information. You are responsible for what you choose to disclose.

5. Reports, blocks and enforcement

You may report a conversation or block the current guest session. A block currently applies to the temporary session pair and is not a permanent person-level ban. Reports store a reason and temporary session references, not chat transcripts. Reports are not guaranteed to be reviewed until the operator has established and staffed a moderation process. The operator may restrict or suspend access where it reasonably considers this necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or service integrity.

6. Temporary media and third-party content

Chats may support short voice notes and GIF sharing. Voice-note audio is relayed through the active connection and is not intended to be stored by UNKNOWN, although temporary processing and browser playback may occur. GIF search is provided by GIPHY; searches and media requests are sent directly to GIPHY, which applies its own terms and privacy practices. Third-party media may be unavailable or removed, and users remain responsible for the content they choose to share.

7. Availability and changes

UNKNOWN is an evolving service. It may be changed, interrupted, limited or discontinued. Free hosting and infrastructure tiers have usage limits and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, message delivery or capacity. The operator must not represent the prototype as an emergency service or promise a response time.

8. No emergency or professional service

UNKNOWN is not an emergency response service, counselling service, medical provider, legal adviser or crisis line. If you face immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted person. Do not rely on a stranger-chat service for urgent assistance.

9. Intellectual property

The UNKNOWN website, branding and software are owned by or licensed to the operator, subject to applicable third-party rights. You may use the service only as permitted by these terms. Do not copy, reverse engineer, redistribute or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law permits or the operator gives written permission.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not guarantee that another user's statements are accurate, safe or appropriate. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any limitation of liability must be reviewed and completed by qualified counsel for the operator's jurisdiction before launch.

11. Privacy

Your use of UNKNOWN is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which describes the information processed by the current implementation. Read it before using the service.

12. Governing law and disputes

Launch requirement: The operator must specify the governing law, competent courts or dispute-resolution process after confirming the legal entity and jurisdiction. This section is intentionally incomplete and must not be treated as an agreed governing-law clause until reviewed by qualified counsel.

13. Changes and contact

Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date. The operator's verified legal identity and contact details must be added before launch. These draft terms require qualified legal review and are not legal advice or a statement of legal compliance.
